Oman adventures a.k.a obviously I'm a color fetishist

The Sultanate of Oman is truly a gem in the Middle East. Glorious mountains,  spectacular deserts, lush greenery, ancient castles and charming people. If you are an adventurer at heart it is an awesome place to visit.

Spa time baby!:)

Sri Lanka you have me under your spell

"Travel is like love, mostly because it's a heightened state of awareness, in which we are mindful, receptive, undimmed by familiarity and ready to be transformed. That is why the best trips, like the best love affairs, never really end."   Pico Iyer

I like to do a ton of traveling. I guess I am a gypsy at heart.  My mum used to call me a gypsy all the time, especially because of my constantly messy hair,  and my tomboyish tendency to wear crazy looking leggings and sneakers everywhere. ( Well kill me, but I feel so dope wearing comfy! )

It feels so exciting to live a life that's free and unique. But as we get older, our fear of the future pushes many of us to make safer choices. But what if you never want to give up the dream?I’m not saying you should pack your luggage, sell your house and buy one way ticket to Brasil, but nothing will teach you more than living life to the fullest. You will learn that constantly pushing yourself and stepping outside of your comfort zone will become something you can be proud of.

Living abroad and traveling is definitely my thing, my meditation, my inspiration. When I'm traveling I love myself more, and the part of me which is usually lost in thoughts and emotions is quiet. Or happy. And in these glorious, rare moments of bliss I feel so much love and gratitude.

I think falling for a place can be very much like love at first sight. The ambience, the people, the food almost intoxicating and at an instant drawing you in, making you want to return time after time again. I had this feeling when I first time came to Sri Lanka.

I fell in love with  this beautiful island also called Ceylon, home to locals with sparse teeth and beautiful smiles, lush rain forests, hippy chick sandy beaches, spicy curries, fascinating Buddhist temples and eye candy views. Even my favourite rap trés jolie M.I.A was born there. It’s a kind of place that evokes emotions, triggers thoughts and feels like a childhood dream.

We spent 4 days in Hikkaduwa a famous surfer point. Hikkaduwa beach is a beautiful wide sandy beach with tall coconut trees bending towards Indian Ocean. We had coconuts every day!  We wandered, surfed, met new friends, ate tons of fresh sea food,  talked and laughed.

If you like fresh yummy sea food and sand between your feet, your destinations are Blue Moon, Drunken Monkey and Refresh Restaurant.

After 4 amazing days in surfers paradise we headed to Kandy to see elephants and explore the Temple of the Tooth which houses a Sacred Tooth Relic of  Buddha.

The Pinnawala elephant orphanage left me feeling a huge range of emotions, happy, sad and confused all in one. Bathing was absolutely amazing and all  animals seemed to enjoy it. Although it was incredible to see these magnificent creatures up close,  it was really hard to see them in chains.

Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) was a lovely place to visit. Being a public holiday, the temple was bursting with worshippers which created a wonderful atmosphere. Serene and peaceful place.
