HOME is a short film that screened at this years Dubai International Film Festival. Kamil Roxas and his creative team did a great job again. As always!:)
Last week the creative district Alserkal Avenue hosted a vibrant exposition called Galleries night. Event filled with art, music and friendly faces. In this art-rich neighborhood a new generation of artists and designers shared their thoughts and the beauty of their creations.
If you haven't had a chance to see all of it, most exhibitions will last till the end of October.
Every geek in Dubai was in heaven this weekend. Why? Comic Con was back!
This time the festival was bigger than ever. The Dubai World Trade Centre was jam packed with excited fans of Star Wars, Manga & Anime, comics, games and sci-fi. You could have easily met your favourite superheros, learn the secrets of clay model animation, get your first acting experience or take pictures with actors like Giancarlo Esposito (Gus Fring from Breaking Bad!).
Check out some of the awesome artwork I've spotted.
Can't wait to do it next year!
SIKKA 2014 was an amazing event. The location in Bastakiya just couldn't have been better. It has talked, smelled and tasted the creative inspirational atmosphere.
If you couldn't make it, don’t worry, art is everywhere in this city.
Here is the photo recap if you missed out!
I'm proud to present an exciting exhibition which is taking place at Courtyard Gallery.
POP WALL exhibition features my favorite graffiti artworks, acrylic and mixed media works, printed posters and pop art themed purses. Binty Bint's candy coloured chickens, pop art and colourful popcorn. What more I could wish for? Absolutely amazing event.
POP WALL runs from March 16th to April 17th. Make sure you also attend the live painting by Binty Bint and the Dotmasters at JA Ocean View Hotel on 18th from 6pm till 9pm. See you there!
Dubai is about looking deeply enough in the city for what you seek. I seek for some fresh urban art, so be prepared to read about all the exciting events that will happen around the town.
The urban art scene in Dubai is growing rapidly and one sign of it is the DUBAI ART SEASON 2014. There are lots of workshops, art exhibits, outdoor art projects, live art and music in public spaces. Yay, I want to high five myself for being in the right place in the right time!
DUBAI ART SEASON encompasses:
Sikka Art Fair: ( March 15th – 25th) www.sikka.ae
Design Days Dubai: ( March 17th -21th) www.designdaysdubai.ae
Art Dubai: ( March 19th - 22nd) www.artdubai.ae
The Middle East Film and Comic Con: ( April 3rd - 5th) www.mefcc.com
The Gulf Film Festival: ( April 9th - 15th) www.gulffilmfest.com
To be honest, it's sometimes very difficult to find the galleries, and you could spend more then an hour in a cab looking for the locations. The best way to see art centers, studios and alternative art spaces is while you ride THE ART BUS. The Art Bus will be traveling around Dubai on three routes, which include Al Quoz, Jumeirah and the Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood, Downtown and DIFC. To book a seat call 04 341 7303 or email to firstname.lastname@example.org. The tickets are priced at AED 50 per person, per day.
